The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, or World Drug Day, is marked on 26 June every year to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving a world free of drug abuse. The global drug problem presents a multifaceted challenge that touches the lives of millions worldwide. From individuals struggling with substance use disorders to communities grappling with the consequences of drug trafficking and organized crime, the impact of drugs is far-reaching and complex. |
This year campaign highlights the need for coordinated long-term action to break the cycle of organized crime and drug |
Stopping drug trafficking requires long-term coordinated action to address supply and demand and prevent organized criminal groups from exploiting vulnerabilities. As synthetic drugs and new trafficking methods are evolving, it needs our befitting responses. The CBN is working with stakeholders to stop the flow of chemicals used in illicit drug manufacture and strengthen prevention to make the society free from drug. The cycle can be broken — and together we can make it happen. |

नशे की लत का खतरा भारत के युवाओं में तेजी से फैल रहा है। आज मादक पदार्थो एवं नशीली दवाओं के दुरुपयोग एवं इनकी अवैध तस्करी के खिलाफ अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस होने के नाते, हम प्रतिज्ञा करते हैं कि हम :
मादक पदार्थो एवं नशीली दवाओं का उपयोग करने वाले लोगों और उनके परिवारों पर घृणा और भेदभाव के नकारात्मक प्रभाव के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाएंगे ।
उन लोगों के बीच एड्स और हेपेटाइटिस महामारी के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाएगे जो नशीली दवाओं एवं मादक पदार्थो का उपयोग करते हैं और एचआईवी और हेपेटाइटिस रोकथाम कार्यक्रमों का विस्तार करके उन्हें मजबूत करते हैं।
मादक पदार्थो एवं नशीली दवाओं का उपयोग करने वाले सभी लोगों के लिए साक्ष्य-आधारित, स्वैच्छिक सेवाओं को बढ़ावा देंगे।
मादक पदार्थो एवं नशीली दवाओं के उपयोग के विकारों, उपलब्ध उपचारों और शीघ्र हस्तक्षेप और सहायता के महत्व के बारे में शिक्षित करेंगे ।
मादक पदार्थो एवं नशीली दवाओं के उपयोग करने वाले लोगों के लिये सम्मानजनक और गैर निर्णयात्मक भाषा और व्यवहार को बढ़ावा देकर घृणा और भेदभाव का मुकाबला करेंगे।
मादक पदार्थो एवं नशीली दवाओं के उपयोग और व्यसन को रोकने के लिए युवाओं और समुदायों को सशक्त बनायेंगे।
The menace of drug addiction has spread fast among the youth of India. Today being the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, we pledge that we will-
Raise awareness about the negative impact of stigma and discrimination on people who use drugs and their families.
Raise awareness about the AIDS and hepatitis epidemics among people who use drugs and expand and strengthen HIV and hepatitis prevention programmes.
Promote evidence-based, voluntary services for all people who use drugs.
Educate about drug use disorders, available treatments and the importance of early intervention and support.
Combat stigma and discrimination by promoting language and attitudes that are respectful and non-judgmental.
Empower young people and communities to prevent drug use and addiction.
